The Family of Isabella Scorgie

Isabella Scorgie, b. 17 June 1881. She had 1 son:
William Bruce Scorgie, b. 16 March 1908 in Milltown of Minnas, Foveran, Aberdeenshire; m. Annie Oliver Bennett (1908 – 1997) on 26 December 1936 at St Peter’s Presbyterian Church, Wandsworth, South London. He was always known as William Dick (the surname of the couple who fostered him).

Isabella Scorgie was the daughter of Theodore Scorgie (1836 – 1919) and Margaret Cooper (1839 – 1927). She was born at Courtstone, Tarves, Aberdeenshire (the farm owned by her father). Theodore and Margaret had 7 children. She died on 13 July 1961 at the Royal Infirmary, Aberdeen.

Isabella (usually known as Bella) lived all her life at Courtstone. She eventually became the owner of the farm and managed it successfully for about 30 years. On her death the farm was sold and the bulk of the proceeds went to a great nephew who lived in Australia.
